Pastel Yummy

Get bored of making regular snack for my family, so i decided to make something i used to make, pastel. Amina really likes the crunchy skin. I used to make pastel because it's simple and easy to make. Usually I use my mother in law recipe, but yesterday I tried new recipe to get crunchier skin. Here is the recipe for the skin:

Filling :

  • 3 carrots cut into 1/4 inch slices

  • 25 beans cut into very small pieces

  • 3 large potatoes, cut into 1/4 inch slices

  • 1/4 kg beef minces

  • 5 red onions, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon white paper

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 2 tablespoons vegetables oil

  • water

  • 1 beaten egg

Directions for filling :

  • Heat the vegetable oil in frying pan. Cook onions and garlic until translucent. Then add minces, beans, carrot and potatoes. Pour some water. Cook until soft and gentle.

  • Add white paper, salt and sugar.

  • Finally add 1 beaten egg.

  • Set a side

Ingredients I:

  • 3 cups all purpose flour

  • 2 beaten eggs

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • water as needed

Ingredients II :

  • 2 cups all purpose flour

  • melted butter as needed

Directions :

  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, egg, sugar and salt. And add water until no longer stick to the bowl. Knead for about 3 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Then, cover it and set a side until 1 hour.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour and butter until you can pinch off into small balls. Cover and keep it until 1 hour.

  3. After 1 hour, mix 1 and 2 together. Form into small balls. Roll the small ball into circle shape. Ready to fill in.

Fill in the filling into the skin, and ready to fry.
